Located amid spectacular foothills close to the former ‘royal city’ of Petropolis, and less than an hour’s drive from Rio de Janeiro’s International airport, the Rio de Janeiro International Golf Resort is Faldo Design’s first project in South America.

Faldo’s thoughts

“This is an amazing property - both beautiful and dramatic, and I am confident that we can create a truly world class golf facility here. We are fortunate to be designing two 18-hole courses, as well as a Par Three course and a public Golf Academy. We refer to one of our 18 hole sites as ‘Top of the World’ – so you can imagine what the views are like; while the other layout, from an elevated beginning plunges down into and through natural valleys. This, truly, will be golf on a grand scale – and in a magnificent stage-like setting!”
