Design Process

Faldo Design offers a comprehensive design and architectural service, guiding clients from initial planning and conceptual design stages, through to completion of construction and the opening of the golf course.

Headed by Nick Edmund (Managing Director) and Andrew Haggar (Director of Architecture), who leads the studio design team, the company offers advice and guidance on every stage of project development.

  1. Stage 1

    Site Analysis

Analysis of site characteristics and project parameters, followed by the provision of a preliminary golf course routing plan and initial design concepts

  2. Stage 2

    Conceptual Design

Conceptual design development and the creation of a detailed Golf Course Master Plan encompassing compatible, clean, logical, and creative solutions to all project and ecological requirements.

  3. Stage 3

    Detailed Design and Specification

Production of detailed design documentation and construction specifications. A comprehensive set of precise working drawings and plans is provided.

  4. Stage 4

    Construction Contract Tender

We will recommend suitable contractors and / or assist a client to pre-qualify suitable contractors to tender for the construction of the golf course and assist in evaluation of bids. We are also able to assist clients to assemble teams of specialist golf course construction personnel, including experienced site managers and shapers, or alternatively we can offer a full Golf Course Construction Management service.

  5. Stage 5

    Construction Monitoring

A regular schedule of site visits by our architects and Nick Faldo throughout the construction and grow-in period is agreed with our clients. When fully grown-in and at an appropriate date for marketing, Nick Faldo will officially open the golf course.
